It’s officially the start of a new week. It probably feels like you were just sitting down yesterday to prepare for the upcoming week. The days are flying by!
I hope you’re looking forward to the week ahead with excitement. But if thinking through the upcoming days feels overwhelming–I’m with you.
As stay-at-home moms and homemakers, we know that although the calendar may not be jam packed with appointments, deadlines, and places to be, there’s still lots of things to be done week-to-week to care for our families, homes and communities. The mental load is still as heavy as ever.
Because I see and feel your pain, I created this Brain Dump & Weekly Planner for mamas like you–to help lighten your load.
Before You Start Planning
I want to mention a few things:
- Block off time for rest: I know the days are busy, but I highly recommend reserving one day a week for rest from housework and anything you consider “work.” Choose which day works best for your lifestyle and stick to the absolute essentials to keep your family cared for and fed.
- Brain dump Ideas: I have attempted to include as many prompts to help you in fully clearing your mind of everything you have to do in the week (or weeks ahead). If you think of a responsibility you have that’s not listed, certainly add that to your list so you won’t have to remember it next time.
- Meant to help, not harm: This tool was created for you. Please don’t allow it to discourage you. Let it work for you.
- Be flexible: Unpredictable things happen. If (and when) things change, that’s totally okay. Just shift things around and keep moving.
- Be realistic: I made room for two priorities each day. If you feel one or three make more sense for you, go for it! Just try to stick to what’s realistic for your season and put the rest under the Bonus section. This will help you stay encouraged and motivated to get them done each day.
He Goes Before You
As you start this new week, I pray that you will remember that the Lord is already with you in the future. He goes before us and prepares the way for us to walk faithfully in the calling that He has called us to. I’m praying your week is purposeful and full of joy!
“It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you
or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” -Deuteronomy 3:18
